Superiority of the Sahabis

Allah swt Says:

“And when Moses said to his people: ‘O my people! Remember Allah’s blessing upon you when He appointed Prophets from among you, and appointed you kings, and gave you such as He had never given to any of the worlds. O my people! Enter the sacred land, which Allah has prescribed for you, and do not turn back or you will become loosers.’ They said: ‘O Moses! Surely, there is a people of exceeding strength in that land, never shall we enter it until they depart from it, so if they depart from it, then shall we enter.”‘ Al-Maidah 5:20-22

However, the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not answer, on the Day of Badr, as Moses people answered him. Rather, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of allah be upon him) consulted them whether to pursue Quraishite army, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke and gave his best opinion and other people of the Muhajirun spoke in its favour. Then the Prophet (peace and blessig of Allah be upon him) kept repeating: “Give me your counsel.” Then Sa’d bin Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Perhaps you mean us, O Messenger of Allah! By He Who has sent you in truth, if you take us and enter this sea, we will enter it with you. No one from us would stay behind, and we do not dislike that you take us to fight our enemy tommrow. We are patient in war, and sincere in fighting the enemy, Perhaps Allah may show you from us what may delight your eyes. Take us, then, with the Blessing of Allah.’ And so the Prophet (peace and blessig of Allah be upon him) was immensely happy with what Sa’d had said.
